Our Mission

Our purpose is simple. To help every participant live a life that feels like their own.

5 Bays Support was built on a simple belief. The right support can change the direction of someone’s life.

It can build confidence. Create independence. Open new opportunities. And help someone stay connected to the life they love.

That’s why we take the time to listen. To understand what matters. And to build support around the individual, not expect the individual to fit around the service.

Whatever the goal, we’re here to walk alongside each participant and help them build a life they feel good about.

Because great support should do more than fill a day. It should build confidence, create opportunities and open the door to greater independence.

Pam.png

Our Story

It began with family, long before it became 5 Bays Support.

Pam was Dan’s grandmother. Fiercely independent and used to living life on her own terms.

As she got older, Dan began helping out. Cooking meals. Watching movies together. Talking about world events. Or simply sitting down for a chat.

To Dan, he was just helping his Grandma.

Looking back, it was something much more.

After Pam passed away, her brother Ray encouraged Dan to make a career in support work.

Dan took his advice.

Working in disability support opened his eyes. He saw how much help was available for everyday tasks, but also how important it was to help participants get out, stay connected and enjoy life beyond the home.

And suddenly, those years with Pam meant even more.

That became the heart of 5 Bays Support.

A service built on connection, independence and helping participants get more out of life.

Because sometimes the smallest moments can make the biggest difference.

The best support isn't about doing things for someone. It's about helping them continue living a life that feels like theirs.

Frequently Asked Questions

We provide practical, everyday support to help you feel more confident, independent and connected.

This might mean helping you get ready for the day, learn new life skills, cook a meal, keep your home organised, get to an appointment or head out into the community.

We can also support you to catch up with friends, go shopping, play sport, go fishing, attend events or take part in activities you enjoy.

Your support is built around you — what you enjoy, what you want to achieve and where you might need a helping hand.

We provide support across Port Stephens NSW and the surrounding communities.

From the coastal areas around Nelson Bay, Salamander Bay and Anna Bay through to Tanilba Bay, Lemon Tree Passage and the Tilligerry Peninsula, we’re proud to support participants in the communities we know and love.

If you’re nearby and not sure whether we cover your area, give us a call. We’d love to hear from you.

Yes. 5 Bays Support is a registered NDIS provider.

This means we are required to meet the standards and requirements set by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

For you, that means support that is not only personal, but backed by clear standards for safety, quality and accountability.

It starts with a simple conversation.

Give us a call, send us a message or fill out our contact form. We’ll take the time to get to know you, what support you’re looking for and what matters to you.

If we’re the right fit, we’ll work with you to get everything set up and make starting your support as easy as possible.

No pressure. No complicated process. Just a conversation to get started.

Yes. We believe the right match matters.

We take the time to understand who you are, what you enjoy and what you want from your support. We’ll work with you to find a support worker you feel comfortable with and can build a genuine connection with.

Because good support starts with the right person.

We believe consistency matters.

Wherever possible, we’ll match you with a regular support worker who gets to know you, your routine and what matters to you.

Sometimes changes are unavoidable, but we’ll always communicate with you and aim to keep familiar faces around you.

Because trust takes time — and we want you to feel comfortable with who supports you.

Absolutely. Getting out and enjoying life is a big part of what we do.

Whether it’s going fishing, playing sport, catching up with friends, shopping, grabbing a coffee or trying something completely new, we’ll support you to do more of what you enjoy.

Your interests. Your goals. Your community.

Of course — it’s your support.

We listen to what you want, what works for you and what you’d like to achieve. Your choices, routines and goals help shape the support we provide.

You’re in control. We’re here to support you along the way.

Yes. We can help you get where you need to go.

Whether it’s an appointment, shopping, catching up with friends or getting out into the community, we can provide transport as part of your support.

Our vehicles are not currently wheelchair accessible. If you need to remain in your wheelchair while travelling, we can work with you to explore and arrange suitable accessible transport options, so you can still get where you want to go.

Because everyone should have the opportunity to get out, stay connected and be part of their community.

Absolutely. We’re happy to work with the people you trust.

With your permission, we can communicate with your family, Support Coordinator or others involved in your support to help keep everyone informed and working towards the same goals.

You decide who is involved and how much information you’re comfortable sharing.

That’s okay — your support can change with you.

We’ll check in with you along the way and adjust your support as your needs, interests or goals change. Whether you want to try something new, build a new skill or simply do things differently, we’ll work with you to make it happen.

Your support should fit your life — not the other way around.

That’s completely okay. You don’t need to have everything figured out.

We’ll start with a conversation about what’s important to you, what you enjoy, what you’d like to achieve and where you might need a little extra support.

From there, we can work together to find support that feels right for you.

Sometimes, knowing where to start is the hardest part. We’re here to make it easier.

We keep support personal.

We take the time to really get to know you — what matters to you, what you enjoy and what you want to achieve. We focus on genuine relationships, familiar faces and support that fits naturally into your life.

Behind that personal approach are strong systems, experienced leadership and a commitment to doing things properly.

Genuine care. Strong systems. Support built around you.

We believe pricing should be clear, simple and upfront.

Our pricing is based on the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits and the NDIS Support Catalogue 2026–27, where applicable.

The cost will depend on the type of support you need, when it’s provided and how your NDIS plan is managed. Before we get started, we’ll explain the rates that apply and clearly outline any agreed costs in your Service Agreement.

No surprises. Just clear, transparent pricing from the start.

Every Person Has a Story. Every Step Matters.

Sometimes, all it takes is one person to see what’s possible when you can’t see it yourself.
